Kelly Theisen

Kelly is a licensed independent mental health practitioner and provisionally licensed alcohol and drug counselor. Kelly graduated from Nebraska Wesleyan University with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology in 2019. She went on to pursue her Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln where she graduated in 2022. Prior to private practice, Kelly worked in community mental health where she worked with adults experiencing mental health and substance use concerns. Kelly specializes in working with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, addiction, and trauma. Kelly utilizes motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy, and eye movement desensitization reprocessing (EMDR) to promote healing and change. Kelly focuses on meeting individuals where they are with acceptance, compassion, and understanding.

Outside of work, Kelly enjoys spending time with her family, kickboxing classes, making brownies, and cheering on the Huskers!
