Katie Kimmerling
Licensed Therapist, MS, LIMHP, LADC, CPC
Katie holds a Master of Science degree in Community Counseling and a Bachelor of Arts in Human Services. In addition to being a Board-Certified Counselor and Certified Professional Counselor, Katie is licensed as an independent mental health practitioner and a licensed alcohol and drug counselor. Prior to working in private practice Katie was the Director of Clinical Services at a Mental Health and Substance Use Residential treatment facility. Her client populations include adults, adolescents and neurodivergent individuals.
Katie specializes in working with clients experiencing co-occurring disorders, anxiety, depression, addiction, and trauma. Katie utilizes motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy, and dialectical behavior therapy with a trauma-informed perspective to promote healing and change. Katie is a registered service provider for the state of Nebraska and works closely with the office of probation to provide services to those with legal concerns. She focuses on meeting individuals where they are with acceptance, compassion, and understanding.
In her volunteer time Katie is a member of the Critical Incident Stress Management Team. Outside of work Katie enjoys baking, arts/crafts and cheering on her children and husband in all of their endeavors.
