Dr. Heather Kennedy

Licensed Therapist PhD, LIMHP, LADC, LPC

Heather is a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 15 years of clinical experience working with adolescents and adults, as well as couples and families. She is also licensed as an independent mental health practitioner and alcohol and drug counselor.

Heather takes a client-centered, collaborative approach, meeting people where they are with compassion and respect. She integrates evidence-based practices such as motivational interviewing and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) to support meaningful change.

In addition to her clinical work, Heather has held faculty positions at the University of Nebraska Kearney and the University of Northern Iowa. She earned her PhD in Human Sciences with a specialization in Child, Youth, and Family Studies. Her research focuses on well-being among marginalized populations.

Outside of her professional work, Heather enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, photography, and being active outdoors.
