Kensie graduated from the University of Nebraska Lincoln with a Bachelor's in Psychology and Child, Youth, and Family Studies. Kensie earned her Master's degree in Clinical Counseling at Doane University. She has previous experience working in the mental health field in various forms; drug and alcohol inpatient treatment, case management for people experiencing chronic homelessness, and community connections for children and families. She has interest and experience in working with Multicultural/BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ communities. Kensie has experience working with issues related to anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, relationship concerns, substance use, and more.
Kensie understands that mental health needs come from a wide variety of life experiences. She aims to offer a safe space where individuals can explore issues in their life through an Existential lens to help them find clarification and awareness. She works with clients to identify behaviors that they have learned as a way to adapt to their life experiences and how those behaviors impact the type of life that they desire. She aims to help clients rebuild a sense of hope within themselves that a different experience of life is possible.
